Luca are a brave and proud people, living in forests, mountains, and deserts, training under waterfalls and by combat with each other. The life of a luca is training nearly from birth, the children born tough and full of energy. A luca mother will sometimes even ensure the strength of her baby before birth, training her own aura and body to temper the abilities of her and the child. The dedication and iron will of the luca is legendary.

Play a Luca if you want…
• To temper your spirit against those of your comrades.
• To have a will as strong as the iron that makes up the bones of your Lucario heritage.
• To have control over the Aura Stream that connects all life.
• To be a member of a race that favours the Cleric, Ranger, and Warden classes.

PHYSICAL QUALITIES

In appearance, luca are more bestial than human, with long canine snouts, large stiff ears, fluffy tails, and thick fur. Females tend to be more slender and curved than the thick, square males, with longer snouts and ears. Sharp spikes jut from the backs of their paw-likes hands, and from the centre of the chest. Their fur is thick, sleeker on females, and usually mostly blue.

All Luca have a black mask-like face marking, and black paws, both hand and feet. While most luca have blue fur with a yellow torso, the rare individual has been seen with shimmering gold where the blue should be, and a sea green where normally yellow. A luca’s eyes are typically red, but purples, greens, and blues are not unknown.

While luca do have fur, they also have longer hair more on the top of the head, which can be of nearly any colour, but dark blues and greens are most common. They will typically keep this hair long and tie it in many braids and ponytails, woven with beads, feathers, leaves, and any other small objects that particular luca may fancy.

Many luca sport scars all over the body from training, and will wear them proudly.
Luca live only slightly longer than humans, about 90 – 110 years old at most.

PLAYING A LUCA

Luca have a strong sense of justice and honour, and believe that you get what you give, so they seek to give as much as they can to make the most of their training. Luca tend to prefer solitude, but will not object to the company of other, especially as that gives them the chance to refine their combat skills and mental sharpness. They love to find out new things, and have an uncanny ability to know the right way to perform tasks. Luca take their training very seriously, and will starve themselves, go for days without sleep, and sit beneath a waterfall all in the name of improving their skills. They have little patience for lazy people, and will resort to blows more often than not to attempt and change the laziness.

Luca see nearly everything as a personal challenge to improve, and are never satisfied with their current skills. There is always a next level to them, and they will work hard to get there.

They see little point to merrymaking, but will not object to a party now and then, to celebrate a particularly tough victory, or to wind down from a session of fasting. They can be very cheerful and friendly when they are comfortable, and rarely loose their cool.

Luca tribes live at the foot of mountains in the rain shadows, surviving harsh cold and scorching sun on a daily basis when hunting. The typical Luca will train early in the morning before breakfast for four hours, then go out for a hunt when it is their shift to gather food for the pack. The society of the Luca is equal when it comes to gender, each side pulling their own weight and contributing to the betterment of the pack.

When a female Luca becomes with child, they will either do one of two things. They would either live with their mate and be taken care of by their family if they aren’t able to take care of herself, or they will undergo intense training to ensure the strength and spirit of the unborn child. When they are close to giving birth, they will travel to a source of water, preferably a waterfall, and will sit in the running water to ready her body for the labour.

The male Luca are usually the hunters of the pack, but it has been known that there are few that prefer to remain home as healers and guides to others.

The Luca and Solca tribes have been at war with each other for generations over land, food, and pride. No one remembers why they are fighting, but they continue to fight for the principle of the thing.
